Dr Dayal is a Neurologist specialising in Parkinson’s and Deep Brain Stimulation.
He obtained his medical degree from the University of Otago, and completed his physician training in Wellington, before completing his specialist training in Neurology, in Auckland. He moved to the UK in 2016 to pursue a fellowship in movement disorders and spent five years working at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery at Queen Square, London. Dr Dayal was awarded a PhD from University College London for his research into optimising DBS treatment for patients with Parkinson’s using novel programming techniques.
Returning to New Zealand in 2020, Dr Dayal is based at Auckland City Hospital. He also holds an Honorary Senior Lecturer role at the University of Auckland.
