We are delighted that Fiona Lithander will be presenting a webinar with us on Parkinson's and nutrition at lunchtime on Tuesday 7th.  

This webinar will talk through the latest science on the role of nutrition in Parkinson’s. Key messages will also be shared which can be put into practice the next day.

BIO: Fiona Lithander is an Associate Professor in Nutrition, a dietitian, and Associate Director (Research) at the Liggins Institute, University of Auckland.  She has over 25 years in nutrition research, focusing on the impact of nutrients, foods, and dietary patterns on health and wellbeing.

Meet the speaker

Associate Professor Fiona Lithander
Associate Professor Fiona Lithander
Associate Professor Fiona Lithander is a dietitian and nutrition scientist, and Associate Director at the Liggins Institute, University of Auckland.

Fiona leads the nutrition and ageing research programme at the Liggins Institute, University of Auckland. She has 25 years’ experience in nutrition research and examines the impact of nutrients, foods and dietary patterns on health and wellbeing. Her research focuses on improving the nutritional status and quality of life of older adults and those with neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson's.

Fiona is on the Science Leadership Team for the High Value Nutrition National Science Challenge. She has been awarded significant research funding, has published widely, and is a member of the Editorial Board of Proceedings of the Nutrition Society. She completed a PhD in nutritional physiology at the University of Cambridge, UK, and holds an honorary appointment at the University of Bristol.
