UPBEAT Weekend

Day 1 of the UPBEAT weekend for people with early-onset Parkinson's has been awesome! Tara Martin spoke about a new physiotherapy for people with Parkinson's, LSVT BIG. John Parsons presentation on goal shifting was really interesting and relevant for everyone, not just people with Parkinson's. AJ & Nikki's presentation on health insurance had everyone talking at dinner.

Day 2 of the UPBEAT weekend started the day with a Tai Chi session with Oscar, followed by breakout sessions on cognitive decline and caring. AJ & Nikki's session on the internet and gadgets was interesting - many of us will be going home to look at our security settings. A huge thank you to Brian & Gailene for sharing their story of DBS surgery with the group.

Day 3 of UPBEAT weekend: Barry Snow spoke to us about developments in the treatment of Parkinson's which was really interesting. Chance from Mobility Dogs showed us what he can do. Then it was lunch and time to say goodbye to new and old friends. Thanks to everyone who came, you made it an amazing weekend!
