North Taranaki

COUNTERPUNCH PARKINSONS 

This is a non-contact boxing-based exercise specifically designed for people living with Parkinsons.. Participants take part in a variety of purpose- built exercise sessions crafted to promote purposeful movement, build strength in your arms and legs, correct posture and increase energy. 
Every Monday & Wednesday at 11.00am at the Box Office Boxing, 106 Leach St, below Supercheap Auto.

Purchase a 10 session card for $50.00 - one off free trial available, talk to the Box Office reception staff

 

YOGA SESSION
Held each Thursday, at DeBurghs Lodge, Lawry St (next to Moturoa Four Square) beginning at 10am. 
Classes will not be held during School Holidays.  Southern members are invited to attend.
Instructor: Catherine O'Neil will take us through relaxation exercises and some gentle stretches, both of which are beneficial for people with Parkinsons.  These free classes are specifically for our members and their carers.

WALK FOR PARKINSONS
Weekly walk on the coastal walkway - Fridays 9.00am
Meet at the East End Carpark, Buller St and enjoy the walk to the Wind Wand and back. Set your own pace and enjoy the fresh sea air and stunning coastline. This distance takes approximately 40 minutes .
 
SUPPORT GROUP MEETING
This is held on the first Tuesday of every second month at DeBurghs Lodge, Lawry St (next to Moturoa Four Square) beginning at 10.30am.  
All members are welcome.   A guest speaker is invited each month covering topics of interest.  Cup of tea/coffee provided.

CARERS GROUP MEETING
This is held on the last Monday of every second month. This is an informal social group meeting for carers of people with Parkinsons to chat and share experiences.
Meetings are at Aroma's Coffee Lounge, Devon Street East (opposite Cycle Inn) at 1.30 pm
Next Meeting Tuesday 27th August
 
WAITARA BUDDY GROUP LUNCHEON
This is held on the last Thursday of each month commencing at 11.45am.  
The venue is the Raleigh Restaurant,16 Queen St, Waitara (opposite the Library)
Check the newletter for the next luncheon date or any cancellations
A social activity is held and you are encouraged to come along and join fellow members.
