Awareness Week in the News
There have been some great news stories from our Divisions in papers around the country in the last few weeks.
A number of members have generously shared their stories.
Parkinson's Awareness Week Events - Dunedin & Christchurch
Two Divisions are having organised walks for Awareness Week on Sunday 6 November 2011.
Otago - Walk 4 Parkinsons, starting at 1:30 pm from St Clair Presbyterian Church Hall and walking around the St Clair area. There are a number of planned routes from a half to 3km ending back at the Hall for afternoon tea. Contact otagoadmin@parkinsons.org.nz for more information.
Parkinson's Awareness Week Events - New Plymouth and Hamilton
Awareness Week is 1 - 7 November and there are some public events happening around the Divisions.
Taranaki are having an Information Evening for family, friends and colleagues of those with Parkinson's. Wednesday 2 November, DeBurghs Lodge, Lawry Street, New Plymouth. The forum will run 5:30-7:30pm to allow interested parties to drop in on their way home from work. Light refreshments will be served.

Do others with Parkinson's feel hotter than they used to? I think my thermometer has re-set itself as I really do feel hotter than I used to and I don't think it is down to menopause.

I know you can’t get on with everyone in this world, but I think it is really important that you get on with your health professionals. Being able to relate to them (and them to you) is soooooo important.
I have recently visited another neurologist and came away feel so much better in myself – more positive. I know the neurologist I usually visit knows his stuff but it is how they impart their knowledge that can make the world of difference.
